No Giles for a while? For title contender Duke, no problem

A few weeks after winning a gold medal at the Olympics with Team USA, the heavy favorite, Krzyzewski returns to Duke with a Blue Devils squad that carries a similar set of expectations into the 2016-17 season. So with that we try to be extremely careful and cautious.

One of the top college freshman, as well as a strong contender, for the No. 1 pick in the 2017 NBA Draft, just had another knee surgery performed.

Even if he is available for the Champions Classic, he nearly certainly will miss the Blue Devils' season opener, November 11 against Marist, and, therefore would be playing his first ever college game on the biggest stage imaginable against another blue blood program. He tore his ACL during his senior year of high school, but was expected to be ready to go at the beginning of the season. "He's a little bit like Dwyane Wade when he was a younger player".

Ben Simmons Fractured His Right Foot
For the Sixers, their rookies can't seem to be healthy for them. "Everybody puts pressure on him but I think he'll handle this". Joel Embiid, the No. 3 overall pick in 2014, has yet to play because of surgeries on his right foot.

Duke freshman Harry Giles, ESPN's top-ranked player in this year's recruiting class, underwent arthropscopic surgery on his left knee Monday, the school announced. "We understand that it's going to take some time". The timetable for return is generally six weeks, which would cost Giles the preseason and likely the first couple games of the season. So we already know what Grayson can do. "But I'm good. And I love my team".

Eventually Allen will practice more but even then Krzyzewski said he may not be a full participant. We probably maybe could've pushed it more or things like that but we want to make sure that when he is back, that there's no lingering effects of the injury.

The operation was the third knee surgery in the past three years for Giles, a 6-foot-10, 240-pound forward from Winston Salem, North Carolina.
