Bills rally past Jaguars, 28-21

The Bills probably can't afford to lose another game the rest of the way if they're going to make the playoffs, and with a tough road game next week at Oakland, winning out is going to be a tall order.

The Denver Broncos agreed to terms with safety Darian Stewart on a four-year contract extension through 2020. Justin Hunter's leaping 16-yard touchdown catch from Tyrod Taylor early in the fourth quarter gave them the lead for good.

The Bills 6-foot-1, 211-pound wide receiver hasn't played since Week 2 due to severe discomfort in his surgically repaired foot, but has been working his way back into game-shape and is hopeful to make an impact in the team's final six regular season games.

Jaguars' Coach Gus Bradley has struggled to find consistency on offense.

"I know it's a limited role, but he's such a difference maker, " coach Rex Ryan said.

What was a clutch-and-grab boxing match between two plodding heavyweights in the first half turned into a brawl with both teams throwing hay-makers and combining for five touchdowns and 422 yards over the final two quarters. Bortles also ran for a career-high 81 yards for Jacksonville.

"There's going to be games where you stall but you have to be disciplined and not turn the ball over during that process to figure out what they're doing", Taylor said.

Although not coming away with the victory, it was clear this Jaguars team came to play and was no easy test for the Bills.

Lions beat Vikings on Prater's last-second field goal
Through it all, leave it to Boone to do what he could to cheer up the locker room and display optimism for the final five games. If the Vikings maintain their current rushing average, they'll finish the season with 1,137 collective rushing yards.

The visiting team is 4-1 against the spread in the past five meetings between these teams, so the Jaguars have that going for them. We need him to get healthy in that sort of shape, that football shape. Four of them are touchdowns.

"I haven't seen that nightmare yet", Ryan said. "As long as I'm in the red zone, it's my zone". And then Jacksonville lost receiver Allen Hurns, also with a hamstring injury while diving into the end zone on a 12-yard catch and run. Then backup receiver Walter Powell did not return Sunday after being carted off in the third quarter with an injury to his left ankle. The offense had a net output of five yards in the first quarter.

The Jaguars were penalized for delay of game on fourth down, and Bortles completed a 4-yard pass to Marqise Lee, turning the ball over on downs with 3 minutes, 25 seconds to play.

Brandon Tate's 43-yard punt return before half that led to McCoy's first TD and his SportsCenter beauty to open the second half got the Bills pointed in the right direction.

"We didn't look so good in the first half, but in the second half, we came out and made the plays we needed to make", Watkins said.

Robey-Coleman was called for a controversial pass interference penalty in last year's Jaguars-Bills game in London. The Jaguars still had two remaining timeouts.

Buffalo faces a mistake-prone Jaguars offense that leads the National Football League with 22 giveaways, including 13 interceptions by Blake Bortles, and has topped 24 points just once this season. That ended on Sunday when Chris Ivory scored on a two-yard run the first time the Jags had the ball. It appeared the Bills stopped them on third down, but a defensive penalty gave the Jaguars another chance to score.
