However, Casio's device is one of the first we've seen that will run Android Wear 2.0, the next version of Google's wearable OS that has been delayed since previous year. Garmin and Strava have similar location broadcasting features, but Casio went one step further with the text message capabilities-of course, you have to be wearing one of the company's smartwatches for that to work.
The new WSD-F20 makes a few cosmetic changes to the original version, but still sticks to the big brash styling, leaving you in no doubt just how much abuse this watch can take.
In terms of sensors, there's air and altitude pressure sensors, an accelerometer, gyrometer and a magnetic compass, while it's water resistant to 50-meters. And now, Casio is back, improving upon the WSD-F10 with the WSD-F20 this year.
Is Ronda Rousey mentally ready for her fight with Amanda Nunes?
Due to these freakish circumstances, Schaub thinks Rousey's head might still not be where it needs to be come fight time. Rousey will seek to continue that trend by defeating Nunes at UFC 207 , as the champion has yet to defend her belt.
The Casio Pro Trek WSD-F10 is an unapologetically niche product geared specifically towards outdoor use, but it also is the first smartwatch to be announced with Android Wear 2.0.
Low power is on the agenda and one of the unique features of Casio's rugged smartwatch is the dual display setup, meaning you can reduce the battery drain when you're out and about. There's a low-power Global Positioning System sensor, sensors like an altimeter, barometer, and compass, and support for color maps. They'll Get Android Wear 2.0 when Google rolls it out in Spring 2017. Casio has also added applications for tracking and assisting outdoor activities such as hiking, cycling, and fishing among other interesting additions - an application called Location Memory adds in location markers with notes through speech recognition while "Moment Setter" allows you to pre-program certain notifications.
Casio's WSD-F20 smartwatch will be available for purchase on April 21.
