USMNT goalkeeper Brad Guzan heading from Middlesbrough to MLS

Speaking after the move was announced, Guzan stated his intent to help Middlesbrough preserve their Premier League status before his departure.
Guzan joins Atlanta on a "multi-year contract" via Major League Soccer's Allocation Process after discussions between the player and MFC. He'll be added to Atlanta's roster upon the opening of the secondary transfer window on July 10.
"Brad is a proven Premier League and worldwide goalkeeper and we're delighted that he's joining our club", Atlanta United president Darren Eales said in a statement released by the club.
Of late, Guzan has vied for playing time on the national team with Tim Howard, who also left England for MLS last summer.

USA national team goalkeeper Brad Guzan will join Atlanta United from Middlesbrough after the Premier League season ends, the English club has announced.
The 32-year-old, who has 53 worldwide appearances, played for Chivas USA from 2005-08, then moved to Aston Villa, where he remained through last season except for a 2011 loan to Hull.
Guzan began in his career in the MLS with Chivas USA, won 53 caps for the USA since making his debut in 2006.
The 32-year-old will link up with his new MLS side, who were founded only two years ago, at the end of the season.
