Trump declares Mark Cuban is 'not smart enough to run for president!'

An hour later, Cuban tweeted that he didn't know what triggered the president's comment, saying, "But isn't it better for all of us that he is tweeting rather than trying to govern?"

At 8:23 a.m. ET, Trump wondered why Cuban's allegiance to him changed over the course of the presidential election.

President Donald Trump had time on Sunday morning after a Saturday of meeting with a world leader, responding with words to a North Korean missile launch and possibly having to absorb the latest fusillade from "Saturday Night Live" to jab at Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban on Twitter. He backed me big-time but I wasn't interested in taking all of his calls. Cuban also tweeted images of correspondence he had with Trump last April, writing "how soon they forget" and sharing what advice he had given then-candidate Trump. Cuban acknowledged in the Star-Telegram story that he can say what he pleases because he doesn't run a public company, but urged CEOs to just "do what you think is right". In an email to Trump via speechwriter Meredith McIver dated May 8, 2016, Cuban wrote, "You don't have to bore people with details". Sherrod Brown, Connecticut Sen. And of course, Cuban perched in the front row of a debate while hoping to be Trump's grim spectre of doom.

Cuban, not surprisingly, didn't take Trump's morning broadside lying down. "And like you said, I may go after that job some day and it could be against you". "This is more important than anything any candidate has done in years".
