Honda WR-V crossover launches in India; prices start from Rs 7,75000

Honda Cars India has launched its WR-V in India with prices starting at Rs 775,000 and going up to Rs 999,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi).

Price: Coming to the price point, Honda WR-V is offered in the price range of INR 7.75 lakh for the base variant while the top end variant sees a price tag of INR 9.90 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).

The new compact SUV of Honda will be offered in both petrol and diesel engine options.

The company said the new model is based on the Jazz platform and is the first to be developed by Honda R&D, India, along with Honda R&D, Japan.

The WR-V will be competing with Maruti's Brezza, Ford's EcoSport, among others. "India is the first country to manufacture and launch the Honda WR-V in the world which is testimony to Honda Motor Company's commitment to the Indian market". This all new premium model from Honda comes with sporty stylish design as well as advanced technology and spacious cabin.

The WR-V will be sold in two grades: S and VX. It gets 3-spoke multi-functional steering wheel, cruise control, unique style cockpit style instrument cluster, fabric upholstery, Multi-Information Display with Tripmeter and Fuel Level Indicator, 7 Step Illumination Control and much more. It comes with a 1.2 litre i-VTEC Petrol engine which has a capacity to churn out 89 bhp and a torque of 110 Nm.

The WR-V is offered in two variants, namely; the S and VX and takes some design cues from the Jazz hatchback. The other one is a diesel engine which is 1.5 litre IDTEC unit putting out 99 bhp of power with 200 Nm of torque while mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox while delivering a best in class fuel efficiency of 25.5 kmpl. While, the diesel variant starts at Rs 8.70 lakh. First introduced at the 2016 Sao Paulo Auto Show, the new SUV has been priced aggressively between Rs 7 and 10 lakhs.

The notable list of equipment includes a sunroof, standard fit ABS and airbags, LED DRLs and the new touchscreen infotainment system that debuted on the refreshed Honda City.
