Under such agreements, the government agrees to end bombardments and stop besieging towns in exchange for a rebel withdrawal. Witnesses said tanks had been deployed in neighbouring areas with the sound of mortars continuing late into the night.

Each day focuses on a different topic, and today's is severe thunderstorms. A brief isolated tornado is possible as well. If your location gets put in a "severe thunderstorm warning", that means that severe weather is expected to be happening very soon. Another round of possibly severe storms is anticipated on Thursday for a large part of Alabama. Forecasters say part of Middle Tennessee, west of I-65 and including Montgomery and Dickson counties, is under an enhanced risk level for severe weather.

The approaching storm is the first of two weather systems expected to sweep through northwest Alabama this afternoon and tonight.
