Facebook killer Steve Stephens found dead

The chase lasted 2 miles before Stephens shot himself in the head after the auto spun and came to a stop, police said.

The incident was the latest grisly crime posted on Facebook, reviving questions about videos posted on the world's largest social network, and how - or if - they can be monitored.

Steve Stephens posted a video of himself shooting and killing a man on Facebook on Sunday.

On Monday evening, Facebook announced that it was launching a review for reporting harmful content following the killing.

Lane also said she has received support from many, including her family, her boss, and even strangers like two daughters of 74-year-old Robert Godwin Sr., who police say Stephens gunned down on Easter.

The employee took Stephens' money and waited for him to drive up to the next window before calling the police, DuCharme said.

Godwin's sister said she feels, "Angry sometimes", over Robert's death and that she was hoping Stephens would be brought to justice.

Videos Stephens shared show him talking about his despair over gambling debts and trouble with his girlfriend.

The Godwin family say they are relieved that the manhunt for Stephens came to an end before he was able to claim another victim.

Police said it appeared Godwin was chosen at random.

"All I can say is that I wish he had gone down in a hail of one hundred bullets", she said.
