Karim Benzema: 'Eden Hazard would fit Real Madrid'

Karim Benzema has backed Eden Hazard's possible move to Real Madrid by saying the Chelsea star would have been an excellent signing for the European champs.

There was little speculation previous year as Hazard and Chelsea struggled but Real were also under a transfer embargo, meaning there was little point discussing a move.

"The France worldwide told Telefoot, according to Goal.com: "[Hazard] is a very good player, what can I say?

Hazard won the award back in 2015, but endured a bad run of form last season as Chelsea slumped to a 10th-placed finish.

The Belgian's been in sensational form for the Blues this year and has been nominated for the PFA Player of the Year award. I may also have personal ambitions to play at other clubs.

Easter weekend weather forecast
Highs of 18C (64.4F) are forecast across southern Britain while the north struggles to get much above 13C (55.4F). Highs in the 70's and 80's will make things feel more like summer to end the work week with a lot of sunshine.

With Batshuayi contributing just five goals to the cause, with only one of those coming in the Premier League, Chelsea are being linked with striking alternatives. But I am trying to focus on the present, to finish well with Chelsea this year. Then, I'll go on holiday.

Hazard is enjoying a stellar season for Chelsea as they edge closer to regaining the Premier League title. We'll see, but for now I'm under contract until 2020.

Interest from Real Madrid usually means you're playing well, right?

"I hope it will be him", Hazard told Telefoot. "For the moment, I'm here, I'm good".
