When today's game came back from commercial, Skip Caray and Joe Simpson told us that the Braves had just acquire Matt Adams and cash from the St Louis Cardinals for minor league infield Juan Yepez.
Adams was hitting.292 with one homer and seven RBIs with St. Louis.
But, he added, "It's the best thing for my career".
Piscotty also was dealing with some tendinitis in his right knee after a bout with the wall in Springfield but he said that was not a problem, nor was the hamstring. Matt Carpenter was essentially entrenched at first base for the Cardinals, leaving Adams without a true spot in St. Louis and thus prompting the Cardinals to send him south in a deal that seemingly benefits both teams.
Atlanta Braves' Matt Adams takes the field for a baseball game against the Washington Nationals in Atlanta, Sunday, May 21, 2017. I'll be able to go over there and join another great organization and be able to play every day. But I can't say enough and thank the Cardinals enough for the opportunities that they gave me and the trust they had in me.
House Oversight Committee wants Comey to testify at public hearing
Chaffetz, R-Utah, said Wednesday afternoon that he had yet to issue the invitation because Comey "evidently has a new (number)". Jason Chaffetz on Tuesday also asked for any documents written by Comey describing his communications with Mr.
"He's a good bat off the bench", Braves general manager John Coppolella said. "Clearly moving Carp to first, and with the dynamics of plate appearances this ultimately made sense today". "We will face all right-handers the rest of the homestand".
Yepez, who was hitting league average as a teenager for Class-A Rome in 2017, signed for $1 million out of Venezuela in 2014.
"Third base, first base and he'll likely be assigned to Peoria", said Mozeliak. As part of the deal, St. Louis agreed to pay Atlanta $900,000 on September 1 to cover a portion of Adams' $2.8 million salary. "We're trying to win right now". Piscotty, who was hurt May 4, played in three games at Triple-A Memphis on his rehab assignment before rejoining the big league club.
His season actually never really has got going.
