Four-goal Kane helps Spurs punish Leicester

Mauricio Pochettino insists there is no chance Harry Kane will be allowed to leave Tottenham after the striker's four-goal blitz in the 6-1 rout of Leicester.

The England forward is now two goals ahead of Everton's Romelu Lukaku on 26 heading into the final weekend of the season. That's one more than he had last season despite playing in nine fewer games because of ankle injuries.

Kane is in the form of his life with Tottenham as he sits on top of the Premier League scoring charts with 26 goals.

The 45-year-old Argentinian said he was not anxious Kane would leave in the close season as Spurs were in a position to keep the players they wanted to keep.

Harry Kane is on course to finish top scorer in the Premier League for a second season in a row.

Kane's fifth league hat-trick in just over two years took him to 32 goals in all competitions this season, four more than he scored last term and one more than his 31-goal tally in the 2014-15 season.

Despite the fact that Spurs are yet to win the Premier League, the stature and size of the club meant that the neutral wanted to see the Leicester "fairytale" come to fruition.

The South Korean scored the other two goals with Ben Chilwell getting Leicester's consolation.

Alexis Sanchez has taken the most shots of the three Golden Boot contenders.

The victory had little effect for Spurs who are guaranteed second place, although Leicester's 18th defeat of the season equalled Liverpool's top-flight record, set in 1906-07, for reigning champions in a 38-game campaign.

Perhaps the previous campaign's failed chase of Leicester City provided added motivation for Spurs. It ended; Leicester 1 - 6 Tottenham.

'I am on 75 in the league and if there is another season like this then hopefully I can get to the 100. I tell you always that he's one of the best strikers in the world.

With Everton travelling to Arsenal on the final day of the season, the odds are massively in Kane's favour to win his second Golden Boot in successive seasons.

"I'm really happy for H and I scored two goals, as well". "I think there were three games I did not score in (at the start of the season) and then I went on a good run".

"We are a bit disappointed not to get a clean sheet for Hugo, who is going for the golden glove but all in all it was a good night".
