More than a dozen reported injured in Lancaster County school bus accident

The Wednesday morning crash caused the bus to flip onto its side, and injured 14 students and the driver.

Police would like tractor-trailer drivers who were in the area of the crash Wednesday morning to come forward with any dash-cam footage they might have.

"If anybody has any information or they saw something, either leading up to or right after the accident, that they think would be important, feel free to give us a call".

Police said that the suspect was driving a light-colored sedan.

The school bus was transporting Lancaster Mennonite students when it overturned just before 8 Route 30 and Route 896, near the Fulton Steamboat Inn and Rockvale Outlets.

Maria Sharapova through to second round in Rome
Sharapova is still waiting to hear if she will receive a wildcard entry into Roland Garros starting a week from Sunday. Her second-round opponent will be Croatian veteran Lucic-Baroni who she beat in the Madrid first round last week.

The accident occurred when a auto allegedly tried to pass an over-sized load, collided with the escort vehicle and then spun into the school bus, WGAL reported. The escort vehicle sideswiped the bus, which then hit the tractor-trailer's load and tipped onto its side.

Students and a bus driver were hospitalized after a school bus crashed in East Lampeter Township, Pa., May 17, 2017.

Out of the 16 injuries from the crash, 13 were considered to be minor. The bus was transporting students from Chester County that come from partner Christian schools that don't offer high school.

The 14 students, the bus driver and another driver were taken to a hospital, where a spokesman said two students with trauma injuries were being transferred to children's hospitals and everyone else was treated and released. "We express concern for the two who are still in the hospital".

Lancaster General Hospital spokesperson John Lines tells WPMT the situation could have been much worse. "That's a nerve-wracking time for any parent to have to go through", Lines added.
