'New Girl' Renewed for Seventh and Final Season on Fox

There's some bittersweet news for fans of FOX's hit sitcom New Girl.
Fox in the USA has commissioned the seventh and final season of sitcom New Girl, while also handing renewals to The Exorcist and Brooklyn Nine-Nine. The network has yet to make an official announcement on limited series "Shots Fired", rookie "24: Legacy" and returning shows "Scream Queens" and "Family Guy", though the latter is all but certain to be renewed. How will New Girl cap off the storyline for their eight final episodes? He also gave a shoutout to all the mothers out there, wishing them a happy Mother's Day, since the New Girl news broke on the same day.
In an interview with The Daily Beast back in March, Johnson revealed that he and the rest of the show's cast and crew were prepared for the comedy to end after Season 6, so much so that the finale was written to serve as both a season ender and a potential series finale. While an official episode count has yet to be determined, sources say the final season will be a shorter run. "Fox won't tell us [whether the show will be renewed]".
