UN Security Council condemns North Korea's missiles tests

North Korea has released launch video of what is believed to be a unsafe and new long range ballistic missile, which it claims is capable of carrying a "heavy nuclear warhead".
Faso, R-Kinderhook, said the administration is appropriately applying diplomatic, economic and, to a lesser extent, military pressure on North Korea.
Council diplomats said the language was significant because China, North Korea's strongest ally, signed on.
KCNA said the new rocket was a "perfect weapon" which was "capable of carrying a large-size heavy nuclear warhead".
"The test-fire proved to the full all the technical specifications of the rocket. like guidance and stabilization systems. and reconfirmed the reliability of new rocket engine under the practical flight circumstances", KCNA said.
Council diplomats say the USA and China, the North's closest ally, have been working on a new sanctions resolution.
Another aerospace engineering specialist, John Schilling, said the launch appeared to demonstrate an intermediate-range ballistic missile that could "reliably strike the United States base at Guam" in the Pacific.
North Korea is believed to be developing an intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) capable of carrying a nuclear warhead and reaching the mainland United States.
North Korea fired a ballistic missile that landed in the sea near Russian Federation on Sunday in a launch the United States called a message to South Korea days after its new president took office pledging to engage Pyongyang in dialogue.

North Korea is under multiple sets of United Nations sanctions over its nuclear and missile programmes, which have triggered global alarm. He has also vowed to prevent North Korea from being able to hit the United States with a nuclear missile, a capability experts say Pyongyang could have some time after 2020.
