Rachelle says McCarthy, her ex-boyfriend, killed her daughter, Bella Bond.
Michael McCarthy, 37, is accused of killing the 2-year-old in 2015 in the Dorchester apartment he shared with the girl's mother.
She said she and McCarthy were using 2 to 4 grams of heroin a day between the two of them after Bella's death. McCarthy's lawyer reject that, saying it was Bond who was obsessed and killed the child. "I couldn't hold it back anymore". Rachelle Bond believed it to have been May 27, two days before McCarthy's birthday; however, she might have been wrong, she testified, because she was basing the date of Bella's death on the date McCarthy was supposed to pick up a vehicle.
"But it's the truth, I was scared", Bond said.
Shapiro says that during her first interview with police following her arrest, Rachelle made up another story for police-about McCarthy wrapping Bella's body in bags and placing her in the refrigerator.
It was in February of 2015 that McCarthy would move in too - a man whose knowledge of astrology and the spiritual world was attractive to her.
White House official: Trump plans to pull USA from Paris deal
It is thus not surprising, that many private corporations, including major oil and gas companies have adopted climate action. While traveling overseas last week, Trump was repeatedly pressed to stay in the deal by European leaders and Pope Francis.
Whenever she brought up Bella's death, Bond said McCarthy "would just say she was a demon and deserved to die". As a result, she could walk free on time served at the end of the trial. A zebra-print blanket and polka dot leggings were also found in the bag, located just east of Boston's Logan International Airport.
Also on Monday, jurors were shown two pages of texts between Bond and McCarthy.
Prosecutors said Bond did not report the incident to police because she was afraid of McCarthy. Shapiro subjected the 41-year-old Rachelle Bond to an intense cross examination. Rachelle Bond testified last week that McCarthy used the vehicle to drive the girl's body to nearby water, weighted it down inside a garbage bag and a duffel bag, and threw it into the water. For instance, Bond said nothing to police about performing CPR on her dying daughter, but she didn't say anything about that to the police.
Rachelle Bond testified that it was McCarthy who began disciplining Bella and adding the concept of consistent sleep schedules into the girl's life.
"At the end of this trial you will realize that Rachelle was projecting her own delusions onto Michael, and that she blamed him for what she in fact did", Shapiro said.
