Early this year, Amazon introduced Alexa to a larger audience by making the virtual assistant a feature which could be accessed on the Amazon app.
Amazon hasn't made an official announcement yet, but the company did confirm to TechCrunch that the integration is rolling out this week. It means using Alexa to help search for items, reorder products, add things to their card, and more online shopping needs.

As to why Amazon would include the virtual assistant in the shopping app, the answer is pretty simple: the Amazon app on Android has somewhere between 100 million and 500 million installs.
Amazon has just revealed that it is bringing its intelligent voice assistant Alexa to Android phones.
Echo device owners began seeing notifications from Amazon noting the feature rollout, and the company confirmed toTechCrunch today that the feature is indeed coming this week.
With the integration, voice commands become a possibility from within the app. Alexa can even provide weather and traffic information for those who need to commute, and it can also play music as you navigate the app. It's like Amazon wants to say, "Hey, this is how Alexa works".
