The by poll was necessitated because of the sudden death of sitting MLA Bhuma Nagi Reddy.
Chandrababu Naidu on Monday said that the TDP's victory in the Nandyal Assembly by-election by a huge majority is a mandate for development.
According to sources close to Mr Reddy, Mr Kishor's team had predicted a 6,000-vote victory for YSRC candidate Shilpa Mohan Reddy over TD candidate Bhuma Brahmananda Reddy. After all the rounds of the counting process, the Nandyal Bypoll election results will be out soon.
A voter turnout of over 80 per cent was recorded for the Nandyal bypoll, which witnessed a fierce fight between the YSR Congress and the TDP. In anticipation of the general elections in 2019, both the TDP and the YSRCP tried every means to gain the trust of people of the state. TDP is now leading with 19657 votes against the opposition party of YSRCP.
Nandyal By Elections were held on 23rd August.

The bye-election to the Nandyal Assembly seat had set off a bitter and ugly confrontation between CM Naidu and Jagan.
Right from the commencement of counting this morning, the TDP candidate maintained a lead in every round, except the 16th round, where it lagged behind a bit.
Bhuma Akhila Reddy tweeted, "Nandyal ticket confirmed to my brother Bhuma Brahmananda Reddy from TDP". Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and YSRCP chief Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy made it a prestige issue with Jagan even suggesting that the result would be a referendum on the TDP government and Chandrababu Naidu.
