Some Facebook and Instagram users are experiencing outages

Luckily Twitter, which has completely separate servers from Facebook/Instagram, was there to host all the questions, concerns and hilarious takes on the outage.

At its peak, the website Down Detector, which tracks outages around the world, said it had had more than 2,000 reported problems.

Facebook and Instagram appear to be down for some users this morning with some unable to post and others unable to access the sites entirely.

Shortly after 7am, service could be seen being restored.

But while she hasn't released music lately, that doesn't mean that Swift has been out of the public eye. She announced it in much the same fashion, on a Google Plus hangout for the world to see.

Users are also reporting problems with Instagram, Messenger, Tinder, and Pokemon Go.

While another added: "People coming to Twitter to complain about Instagram and Facebook being down".

The technical glitch seems to be affecting the website's desktop site and mobile-phone application. "We're sorry for any inconvenience".

For Instagram, people reported problems logging in, refreshing their news feed, posting to Instagram Stories, "liking" photos and more. More than 3,000 of its users could not access the site today.
