Clemson received 15 first-place votes, with the Sooners receiving the remaining vote.
In the Big 12, Oklahoma state rose three spots to No. 6 after a 59-21 victory at Pittsburgh. Penn State moved up a spot to No. 4 as USC fell a spot to No. 5 following its overtime win vs. Texas. Included in that run a touchdown both rushing and passing by quarterback Kelly Bryant, plus a 44-yard interception return for a score by Dorian O'Daniel. The majority of movement came as a result of one ranked team knocking off another, with very few upsets of ranked squads by those outside the Top 25. Alabama is next at 26.
