The most notable was the death of 19-year-old Timothy Piazza, who died in February after an alcohol-related hazing incident at Pennsylvania State University's Beta Theta Pi fraternity. THC, known as cannabis, is the chemical compound found in marijuana.
Phi Delta Theta returned as an official university fraternity in 2006 after a two-year hiatus, according to reports from the Daily Reveille. It is unknown whether the house mom was in the fraternity house the night before or on the morning of Gruver's death, he added. "It will not be tolerated at LSU, period".
"We're committed to investigating this situation thoroughly", said Bob Biggs, the chief executive at Phi Delta Theta.
Alexander said he wasn't aware of any arrests immediately made in connection with Gruver's death.

Janata Dal (United), which recently joined the ruling National Democratic Alliance, is likely to get a berth in the new Cabinet. He said on Thursday that he will not be occupying the Defence Minister post for long, hinting at the imminent reshuffle.
CBS Baton Rouge affiliate WAFB-TV cites the East Baton Rouge Parish Coroner's Office as saying Gruver was driven to the hospital in a private vehicle from the Phi Delta Theta fraternity house.
"We mourn the loss, and the possible impact that he may have had on our region and the world", he said.
The university refused to elaborate what actually happened to the teenager, but said police was investigating the death as a "hazing incident". "As we have continually warned over and over again, hazing is risky, irresponsible and unacceptable". All fraternity activities are suspended until the cause of death is determined.
According to LSU's official Greek life calendar, next week is scheduled as "hazing prevention week".
Nine members of the fraternity have also been reportedly forced to move out immediately, according to school officials. "Our deepest sympathies and prayers go to his family and his friends".
