Miley Cyrus dissolves into tears mid-interview: 'Everything taken away'

An emotional Miley Cyrus discussed the victims of Hurricane Harvey - and what she's doing to help them - when she visited "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" to tape an upcoming appearance.

The pop star donated half a million dollars via her organization, The Happy Hippie Foundation, and was brought to tears when Ellen DeGeneres brought up the act of kindness.

"My grandma's sitting here". It just really makes me really upset.

After being prompted by Ellen to speak about her donation, the songstress said: "I can't really talk about it, I don't know why it makes me so upset". "I know that there are going to be a whole bunch of people we need to help get back on their feet".

Miley Cyrus made it clear that she's more than happy to be able to help out after Hurricane Harvey.

Actress Sandra Bullock, who maintains homes in Texas and Louisiana, earlier pledged $1 million, while the Kardashian reality television family offered $500,000.

The singer announces her donation to relief efforts in Texas.
