The London Times newspaper said on Thursday the fact the royal princes could speak so openly about their emotions showed the lasting legacy of Diana, one of the first royal figures to talk about her emotions.
From her engagement to the Prince of Wales in 1981 until her death in 1997, Diana was a major presence on the world stage, often described as the "world's most photographed woman". She was moving very slightly and I could see she was alive. They have her empathy and compassion which they have put to good use, whether as an air ambulance pilot in William's case, or through Harry's pioneering Invictus Games.
"It's been 20 years now but there are people you don't forget, and she is one of them", said Sylviane Rives of Paris, who works nearby.
Outside the palace looks a lot different than it did 20 years ago, when it was the scene of mass mourning and tribute for Diana, reports CBS News correspondent Mark Phillips.
Diana's humanitarian efforts left an impact on the world, changing many people's lives for the better. Her admirers began paying tribute to Diana before dawn, placing candles shaped in the letter "D" at the palace gates.

The news of Diana's death led to the first Sunday publications of the EADT, Evening Star and Eastern Daily Press newspapers. Diana entered the royal family and the public limelight at the young age of 20 and was married to Charles for 11 years.
Twenty years after the death of Diana, the Princess of Wales and the first wife of Prince Charles, her two sons - Prince William and Prince Harry - visited a number of places dedicated to their mother.
