Death toll at Brazil day care center rises to 7

Four toddlers and their teacher have died in Brazil after a nursery school security guard sprayed them with alcohol and set them on fire, officials said.

The horrific attack happened Thursday at the Innocent People day care center in the town of Janauba, CNN reports.

"I'm not going to let them continue in day care, my children are all small and have no defence of anything".

The guard was identified as Damiao Soares dos Santos, 50, who had worked at the nursery school since 2008.

More Americans have died from gunshots in the past 50 years than have been killed in every US war, NBC News reported.

He also set himself on fire, police said.

Sega then tied up with Sony Pictures Entertainment in 2014 for the film development in its bid to expand its entertainment brand. Fowler was the director of the 2005 Academy Award-nominated animated short film " Gopher Broke ", which was produced by Miller.

Dozens of people were also hurt in the blaze while the guard, who was reported to be mentally ill, also died after succumbing to his own burn injuries. 25 people mostly children aged between four and five were hospitalised with burn injuries.

President Michel Temer moved to twitter and posted, "I immensely regret this tragedy involving children in Janauba".

Investigators are still trying to determine a motive for the brutal attack.

Mr Temer said that, as the father of a school-age child, he understood "this must be an extremely painful loss" for the parents. In some local media reports, it was suggested that Santos was sacked last month for health reasons, when he brought health report to daycare.

The municipality of Janauba announced a 7-day mourning in region.
