Patriots Hold Off Chargers 21-13 for 4th Straight Win

New England Patriots receiver Chris Hogan sustained a shoulder injury in Week 8 during the team's win over the Los Angeles Chargers.

The Chargers' Melvin Gordon ran for 132 of their total 157 rushing yards, including an 87-yard touchdown run in the first quarter.

The Chargers probably aren't good enough to overcome coaching and special teams blunders against a team like the Patriots. For the second-straight week, the Patriots held an opposing quarterback to fewer than 300 yards (212).

Bosa's second-quarter sack of New England Patriots star Tom Brady on Sunday was the 19th of his two-year National Football League career. After recovering with the ball, Benjamin chose to run from coverage - into the end zone - where he was pinned down by Matthew Slater and Jonathan Jones, giving the Patriots a safety and a 9-7 lead.

New England had a chance to further extend the lead to 21-7, but Gostkowski missed a 43-yard field goal. However, the Chargers would fail to convert a two-point conversion, giving the Patriots a five-point lead, 18-13. Rivers' desparation pass was intercepted on the 1-yard line by Jonathan Jones to seal the win.

The Chargers made a last-minute press down the field with the score at 21-13, setting up the final play of the game with one second left on the clock at the Patriots' 23-yard line.
