Chiefs to start Patrick Mahomes in season finale

The Kansas City Chiefs will start quarterback Patrick Mahomes on Sunday against the Denver Broncos over Alex Smith, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Patrick Mahomes will start on Sunday against the Broncos, per Andy Reid.

But the job security of Broncos rookie head coach Vance Joseph may hinge in part on Sunday, so Mahomes is likely to get a full taste of a risky and star-laden Denver 'D'. Mahomes will be able to get at least 1/16th of a season under his belt and show the coaching staff and front office what he can do with a week of game planning and a chance to lead several offensive series in a row. It will be the first career start for Mahomes, who was selected 10th overall in this year's draft and could potentially be Kansas City's quarterback of the future.

Bombardier also argues that Boeing and Airbus do not compete with the CSeries because their planes are larger and have more range. Department of Commerce announced its decision to finalize the 300% import duty levied on its aircrafts.

"It's not going to hurt him for sure", Reid said. Smith will enter the final year of his contract with Kansas City, and carries a cap hit of over $20 million. The biggest difference this week will be in the amount of first-team reps he gets - the majority of them as Smith operates the scout squad. "At the same time, I've been trying to do the best I can every single week", Mahomes aid. But since losing six of seven, the Chiefs have won their past three games - capturing the AFC West title in the process.

If Smith plays, he can break the club record for most touchdowns in a season since the AFL-NFL merger (Elvis Grbac had 28 in 2000).
