Harry And Meghan Are Breaking From Royal Tradition With Their Wedding Date

Crowds started gathering at 8am in the hope of getting a glimpse of the newly-engaged couple who were making their way to the Terrence Higgins Trust World Aids Day charity fair at Nottingham Contemporary.
Markle has given up her roles with World Vision and UN Women to act as patron for the Royal Foundation, set up by Harry and his brother Prince William to support charities, but aid groups urged her to use her elevated fame to engage the public.
The couple will also visit the Nottingham Academy, where they will meet children involved in the royal family's Full Effect program.
Harry, 33, Queen Elizabeth's grandson and fifth-in-line to the British throne, and Markle, 36, who stars in the TV legal drama Suits, said on Monday that they will marry in May.

The trip is the couple's first official visit since they announced their engagement.

On Tuesday it was confirmed that Markle will step down from her charitable duties working with World Vision Canada and as a United Nations women's advocate so that she can start her new royal life with a clean slate. Kensington Palace has yet to confirm a specific date but did say the nuptials will take place that month.
