The other day we reported that Instagram appeared to be testing out the idea of allowing users to add GIFs into their Stories. Instagram has announced that Stories now supports animated GIF stickers, allowing you to add a little extra flair to the photos and videos you post to as stories. Aside from easily looking through their library of GIFs, they also added a GIF-making feature behind the emoji button at the bottom.
Instagram Stories are about to get a lot funnier and more entertaining.
Previously, users could only write, draw and add regular stickers to their stories-now, with "GIF Stickers", users can add a bit more style to their creations with these moving images.
Back to the new GIF sticker feature, though.
At Least 17 Killed In New Delhi Factory Fire
Fire officials said the victims were trapped inside the factory as there was no exit route, The Times of India reported. North Delhi mayor Preety Agarwal has rushed to the spot, a senior NDMC official said.
From there, you can either peruse the "trending" options Giphy offers, or search for something specific.
Not only did Instagram introduce GIF stickers, but they also teased the soon-to-be-released ability to change the size of photos inside of Stories.
Instagram's efforts to one-up Snapchat continue with the addition of GIF stickers in Instagram stories. GIF stickers are available Tuesday for both Android and iOS users.
Capture a photo or video, and you should see a smiley face icon at the top, next to the drawing and text tools. The difference is that unlike a sticker, GIFs look more interactive.
With the upcoming update, your pictures and videos can be shared in their original dimensions, be they in a square, portrait or landscape format. You'll then be able to fill in the excess space with a customizable color gradient.
