Monster Hunter World is the Fastest Selling Entry in the Franchise

Capcom's stock (9697) traded up nearly 5% in Japan on today's news of massive Monster Hunter: World sales.

Whatever your thoughts are on Capcom or Monster Hunter World, there's no denying that the game has moved 5 million in shipment and digital sales.

While the results aren't necessarily indicative of the specific number of copies sold, it's still a fairly accurate way of predicting how well the game has been doing.

In an odd effort to promote the launch of their already successful Monster Hunter World, Capcom has revealed that they're offering £50,000 to anyone who can offer evidence of real-world monsters such as Loch Ness and Big Foot. On console you use first party matchmaking, you just kind of plug into it, whether it's PSN or Xbox Live, but on PC we're going to have to work more to get our own matchmaking working.
