Trump tells farming convention the 'American dream is roaring back to life'

Many family farms are small businesses that will benefit from tax cuts, dependable domestic energy and infrastructure improvements, including rural Internet.

Before a crowd estimated at more than 4,500 roaring its full-throated approval, President Donald Trump Jan. 8 extolled the virtues of rural America at the American Farm Bureau Federation annual meeting at Nashville, Tennessee.

Trump unveiled the effort at the annual convention of the American Farm Bureau Federation, promising the administration was taking giant steps toward bringing neglected rural communities into the modern era. But as we approach his one-year anniversary in office, Trump's words on the campaign trail ring hollow as the promises he made to his base go unfulfilled.

"Yeah, clearly, trade will be on the mind of folks in the room on Monday, and I think you'll hear the President touch upon that", a Senior Administration Official told reporters at the White House last week.

The President also earned the applause of the farmer-filled audience when the topic of over-regulation was breached.

Farmers will be able to deduct the cost of equipment next year and be "spared the punishment of the deeply unfair estate tax, known as the death tax, so you can keep the farm in your family!" he said to a standing ovation. He remarked that it was a tough provision of the tax bill to get approved.

Special Counsel Mueller Hasn't Requested Interview With Vice President Pence
Asked about Trump's tweet, she brushed off the idea that the release had anything to do with her election. Russian Federation and the world is laughing at the stupidity they are witnessing.

On trade, Trump still has farmers anxious. It greatly expanded the EPA's federal jurisdiction and the scope of bodies of water subject to Clean Water Act requirements.

"My administration is in the process of rolling back a rule that hit our farmers and ranches very, very hard", he said.

The United States has proposed at the NAFTA talks that Canada eliminate its tariffs on imports of USA dairy, poultry, and egg products - meaning a dismantling of the nation's supply management system. You know about that. "It sounds so nice, it sounds so innocent, and it was a disaster". It sounds so innocent. We are fighting for that flag. Trump has repeatedly attacked players who knelt during the anthem to draw attention to racial issues.

According to National Economic Council Special Assistant for Technology, Telecommunications, and Cybersecurity Grace Koh, the Trump Administration will also seek to increase rural broadband deployment by to make use of federally-owned "dark fiber", or fiber that has been laid but is not now in use. "American agriculture needs and deserves policies that support and build on this success - by opening markets overseas; by ensuring fair and science-based regulatory treatment for American products of all kinds; and by implementing strong enforcement policies that hold trading partners to their commitments".

"Make sure you look up @realdonaldtrump", he said. "She's very strong on getting broadband to rural America". The other calls on the Department of the Interior to install broadband towers on property it manages, a potentially vast portfolio of national parks, wildlife refuges and Indian territories.

Trump on Monday is also attending the College Football Playoff National Championship in Atlanta, where Alabama's Crimson Tide is playing the Georgia Bulldogs.
