Val Demings gives the closing prayer at National Prayer Breakfast

While there was an attempt by Congress to repeal the Johnson Amendment as part of the $1.5 trillion tax cut, the provision did not make it into the final legislation that Trump signed into law.

Roy Speckhardt, executive director of the American Humanist Association, said the president excluded Americans who practice other faiths or no faith at all.

Trump's optimism for our nation is here seen as an expression of his belief in God's providence. "Just let me try to walk, '" Trump told the gathering. "In her wonderful, 9-year-old mind, that meant creating a goal of just reaching 10,000 people", Sanders said at the briefing.

"Today we thank God and she's walking very well", he said.

I said, "Do you love your mom?" "I do so to remind myself that even in this noisy, conflicted, and sometimes acrimonious world of politics, that we want to treat everybody, everybody the way that we would like to be treated", said Crist.

"All we have to do is open our eyes and look around us, and we can see God's hand". At one point, the doctors told Sophia that she would not be able to walk.

In an interview with Politico's "Women Rule" podcast, the Arizona Republican's daughter said her father, recovering from chemotherapy for aggressive brain cancer and a viral infection in December, is taking precautions that are keeping him in Arizona.

Sophia Campa-Peters solicited 10,000 prayers from around the world last month as she faced a high-risk surgery.

Russell Westbrook, Carmelo Anthony questionable against Lakers
Josh Huestis earned his second start of the season after rookie Terrance Ferguson started the previous five. Thompson became the 28th player in National Basketball Association history to make 1,500 career 3s.

She says it is because of thousands of prayers from strangers.

At times, the prayer breakfast nearly resembled a celebration of faith healing, with an appearance by a military veteran who bounced back from serious injury in a auto bomb attack in Iraq, and the president giving a shoutout to a 9-year-old girl who has a disabling illness but whose doctor said she was able to walk again because "this little girl has God on her side".

The committee that handles the prayer breakfast is made up of Protestants and Catholics, and members make a point of inviting people from different faiths to the event.

Sophia received a standing ovation from those gathered at the event where President Trump honored our nation's military heroes.

So today, inspired by our fellow citizens, let us resolve to find the best within ourselves.

"We eat, we sing, we share praises and prayer needs. As long as we open our eyes to God's grace and open our hearts to God's love, then America will always be the land of the free, home of the courageous and the light for all nations".

"I thought that, are in the world, how many people are in the world?" And thank you to all of our heroes for serving, protecting, and inspiring America each and every day.
