Xiaomi launches Redmi 5 Plus in Pakistan in PKR 18000

Both the latest Redmi Note 5 and Note 5 Pro smartphones will be Flipkart exclusive, aside from Mi.com and the Mi Home retail stores.

Xiaomi has launched its long-awaited television Mi TV 4 in India for Rs 39,999, a move that will pitch the Chinese tech major against the likes of Samsung and Sony.

The Xiaomi Mi TV 4 was first launched a year ago at the CES 2017 and it is touted to be the thinnest TV to date. All this is because the company has about 57% shares in the online market segment in the country.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 is the same smartphone that launched in China as Redmi 5 Plus.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro sports a 5.9-inch FullHD+ screen with a resolution of 2160x1080 pixels.

With a full-screen display in 18:9 ratio, the phones are reportedly able to display more content compared to regular 16:9 ratio displays, allowing for a better user experience when watching videos or playing games. In India, Xiaomi now sells smartphones, air purifiers and mobile accessories like power banks and earphones among others.

The Redmi Note 5 is powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 625 Chipset. The company has launched two variants of this device each with different RAM and onboard storage.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro has been priced at Rs.13,999 for the base variant with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. The TV is just 4.99 mm thin. The front camera on the Redmi Note 5 Pro is a 20MP camera with Beautify 4.0. Talking about the cameras, the device comes with a superb combination of 12MP + 5MP sensors at the rear. Out of the box, it still runs on Android 7.0 Nougat with MIUI 9 skin on top. There is 4000mAh battery in the device that can easily survive for a day. It features micro USB port to recharge the device and there is no fast charging option available on it.

Both the devices offer excellent specifications for the price and the choice of one device over the other boils down to the price and what the user expects from the phone. It is powered by a 64-bit 1.8GHz Amlogic Cortex A53 quad-core processor with a 750MHz Mali-T830 GPU, 2GB RAM and 8GB eMMC storage. The 12MP camera has f/2.2 aperture while the 5MP camera has f/2.0 aperture. For selfies, you get a 5 MP front-facing camera.

But readers have been posed with more confusion since there is subtle difference between Note 5 and the Note 5 Pro. Redmi Note 5 Pro has 4GB and 6GB RAM while the OnePlus 5T has 6GB RAM and 8GB RAM.

In terms of content, Mi TV 4 has partnerships with aggregators like Voot and Hotstar and offers content of over 500,000 hours. Mi TV 4 will support 3500 DTH operators in India.

The Mi TV has a big chance of making the 4K TVs mainstream in the Indian LED-panel led TV market where it can simply blow the competition away with its price and features.
