Kentucky guy pleaded guilty to attacking US Senate Rand Paul

U.S. Senator Rand Paul was tackled by his Kentucky neighbor past year, resulting in broken ribs following the attack.

A judge set sentencing for June 15. The recommended sentence is 21 months and a fine.

The episode had been "profoundly embarrassing" for Boucher, his lawyer, Matt Baker, said.

According to Associated Press, Boucher has agreed to pay restitution to Paul, but the amount will be confirmed during the sentencing later this year. A friend of Paul's said the senator had alighted from his ride-on lawnmower to remove a tree branch when he was suddenly tackled from behind.

Paul suffered multiple broken ribs in the attack.
