Little Miami River Brings Flooding to Loveland, Ohio

The Ohio River at New Cumberland was predicted to crest Monday at 1 p.m.at 36.3 feet against the flood stage of 36 feet. The river was expected to reach moderate flood stage along the southern border of OH and West Virginia in the coming days, the weather service said.

The National Weather Service has extended flood warnings for the St. Joseph River above Newville and the North Branch Elkhart River at Cosperville.
Flooding will continue to be a threat this week as more rain falls and runoffs continue, Accuweather said.
Flood advisories were in effect for parts of eastern Texas northeast through southern IL and in and into Pennsylvania as thunderstorms packing heavy rain, large hail and strong winds were in the weekend forecast, the National Weather Service said.
"After a few dry days, rain will return to some of the waterlogged cities in those regions, exacerbating the flooding situation", Dolce said.

The preparedness actions taken on Friday, such as having help ready from the West Virginia Army National Guard and the American Red Cross, have been canceled, Woodyard said.
"That is a gate that will ultimately keep the Ohio River from protruding towards the residences here", MSD supervisor Tony Parrott said.
He also asks that residents call their local city, county or Red Cross if there is anyone who needs assistance.
Abdalla had prisoners at the Jefferson County jail filling sandbags to protect the jail's electric generator near the river, as well as other areas of the county if needed.
