President Trump Will Finally Visit the United Kingdom in July

May invited Trump for a state visit when she became the first world leader to meet the president in the White House in January previous year.

This will reportedly be a "working visit" with Prime Minister Theresa May, though full details haven't been disclosed yet.

President Trump is finally going to London after postponing the trip twice.

President Donald Trump will make his first official visit to the United Kingdom in July, White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said Thursday. "Further details will be set out in due course", he said.

Six Conservative groups - including the think tanks the Bow Group and the Bruges Group - have written to Mr Trump urging him to focus his visit on his "ancestral home" of Scotland, where his mother was born.

Both are expected to attend the Brussels NATO summit on July 11 and 12.

In January of this year, Trump was scheduled to visit London to open the new US embassy, but he canceled the trip, claiming he felt former President Barack Obama's administration made a bad real estate deal in choosing the new location.

In February, Trump had been scheduled to open the new U.S. Embassy in Britain but the trip was abruptly canceled amid fears of mass protests.

Johnson also denied that having a working visit instead of a state visit was a snub.

It will therefore not include an official banquet at Buckingham Palace nor a carriage procession up the Mall, but it will include bilateral talks with Mrs May.

A few hours after a van mowed down pedestrians on London Bridge and attackers inside went on a stabbing rampage in the streets, Mr. Trump scolded Sadiq Khan, the city's mayor, on Twitter.
