Shenmue I & II Coming To The PlayStation 4, Xbox One And PC

Following several reports over the last couple of years, Sega kicked off FES 2018 with the announcement that it's re-releasing Shenmue I and Shenmue II for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. While this is merely a re-release and not a remaster, these more powerful systems will likely allow a game series that was ahead of its time to finally feel like it was meant to.

Shenmue fans rejoice! SEGA has officially announced that Dreamcast classic's Shenmue I & II are making their way to consoles and PC this year. With an emphasis on the finer details, Shenmue helped form a rich open world, and its slow and atmospheric pacing helped it claim the status of a cult classic. If you love the Yakuza series, this re-release is worth buying. After all, since some consider the Shenmue franchise to be among the best video game stories ever told, it needed to be played by more people. It should be noted that the PS4, Xbox One, PC versions were announced for United States and European territories.

Tiger shoots one over par in Masters return
Doug Ghim carried the flag for the seven amateurs at the Masters by holing out for eagle on the 18th hole for an even-par 72. And there's no fondness for any tournament in the world like there is for the one every April at Augusta National Golf Club.

The bundle isn't just a straight port of the original games, either. The re-release will stay true to the originals with modernised features including fully scalable screen resolution, choice of modern or classic control schemes, PC graphics options, an updated user interface and the option to enjoy either the original Japanese or English voiceovers. It might not be a ground-up reworking, but it looks like there's enough here to bring the games up to modern standards. No word on an exact launch date at this time, either, and of course still no word on Yu Suzuki's upcoming Shenmue III, at least not yet.
