'Mario Tennis Aces' beta dates announced

Details have been announced for the pre-launch Mario Tennis Aces tournament. It'll begin at 6 p.m. PT (that's 9 p.m. ET) on June 1 and end at midnight PT on the third of the month.

A Mario Tennis Aces Top Players Tournament featuring the top-8 best players from the online tournament will take place on June 24, 2018 at the Makuhari Messe.

Tennis hopefuls will be able to pick from four playable characters - Mario, Peach, Yoshi, and Bowser - and take part in online multiplayer matches in a tournament format.

Five secret unlockable characters will also be available by gaining points in the beta tournament and advancing through the online stages.

Scottie Pippen Reveals Why Celtics Can Eliminate LeBron James, Cavs
Now, he and the Cavs are gearing up to head to Boston to face off against the Celtics in the Eastern Conference Finals. And I remember saying, 'Oh this is not good.

We're not sure of the exact format of the "tournament" right now, but online play will be available, along with rankings for those participating.

The intuitive and deep gameplay allows for exciting competitions in the living room or, really, anywhere using the power of Nintendo Switch. This time, a story mode will accompany the tennis action as players explore the island as Mario and face off in various challenges.

Or if you're like me and don't wanna get whupped by some random digital "Roger Federer" or "Serena Williams" you can play it safe against a computer controlled opponent in offline singles play.

The tennis you'll be playing in the mode isn't your standard back-and-forth match. Mario steps onto the court in classy tennis garb for intense rallies against a variety of characters in full-blown tennis battles. This new Switch exclusive looks excellent, and if the early footage we've seen is any indication, it's going to be a bit of a smash, as far as Mario arcade sports are concerned.
