Trump's representatives said in the document that revealing the payments made to Cohen was not necessary by law, instead saying they were listing them "in the interest of transparency".

Besides Trump and Cohen payment, the ethics document has information on Trump's personal businesses.

US President Donald Trump's longtime personal lawyer Michael Cohen asked the Qatari government for at least US$1 million (RM3.95 million) in December 2016 in exchange for access or insight into the Trump administration, the Washington Post reported yesterday.

Trump confirmed on May 3 that he had reimbursed Cohen the United States dollars 130,000 he had given to Daniels days before the 2016 election to buy her silence over an alleged affair with the then presidential candidate.

The president reported royalties from his 1987 book Art of the Deal in the same $100,000-$1m range as he did a year ago - and sales for some of his lesser titles picked up.

In a separate but related story, the Post reported Wednesday night that Federal Bureau of Investigation agents have questioned a translator Cohen worked with in connection with payments he received from the company Korea Aerospace Industries.

"Frankly I love the idea that the Office of Government Ethics says that everything is fully disclosed and therefore its ethical", Giuliani told CNN.

Ms Daniels' lawyer, Michael Avenatti, tweeted, "Mr Trump's disclosure today conclusively proves that the American people were deceived".

Mr Trump's lawyer Rudy Giuliani told Fox News Channel's Laura Ingraham that the U.S. president was "fully aware" of the disclosure and "endorsed the strategy".

"We wouldn't do it without him", Giuliani said on "The Ingraham Angle".
