The Rockets host the seventh game of the West finals on Monday night. Love left a regular-season game against the Miami Heat with a concussion on March 27.
According to SportsOddsHistory.com, the Cavs, who now possess +650 (bet $100 to win $650) odds of winning the series, are the biggest Finals underdog since the website began tracking such data since 2002. In both conference finals matchups, the first three games of the series were decided by at least 13 points. But what would follow - 26 more missed threes in a row, the longest stretch of missed triples in National Basketball Association postseason history - turned out to be one of the biggest outliers in recent memory, one that will haunt the title-worthy Rockets now that they've been taken out by a Warriors team that they had right where they wanted.
The defending champions trailed by as many as 15 points in the first half. With his team-leading plus-24 in 38 minutes, the veteran's length, physicality, and ball movement helped the Cavs win Game 7 in Boston.
There's an argument to be made that great players rise to the occasion when competing against the best. Draymond Green rolled his ankle in the fourth quarter of Game 7 on Monday.
Irish turn attention to parliament as abortion ban voted out
Several people refuse to talk about their vote at all - who are you to ask me about it? - heard in the click of the door closing. From morning, however, it has seemed clear that overnight predictions of a massive vote for constitutional change were accurate.
With that many more minutes on James' odometer, rest will be a big storyline in the series.
These comments appeared online nearly instantly after the Cavaliers Game 7 win over the Boston Celtics in the Eastern Conference Finals, and as the age-old debate reared it's head once again, the legendary Kobe Bryant offered some choice words on the GOAT argument. It'll be interesting to see what the duo bring when going against each other on the biggest stage of all. For example, in playoff wins over the past four years, the Warriors have shot 40 percent from behind the three-point line while their opponents connected on 30 percent of their long-range attempts. If you don't know what that means but can add, consider they were +250 underdogs last season, were +180 dogs in 2016, and +190 in 2015 (lost the series without Kyrie Irving or Love, 4-2). Apparently, Rockets coach Mike D'Antoni told Warriors All-Star forward Kevin Durant during Game 7 that his team would have won the series if Paul played.
James tallied 35 points and grabbed 15 rebounds to lead the Cavaliers to a Game 7 win over Boston in the Eastern Conference finals.
Harden led the way for the Rockets with a team-high 32 points, six rebounds, six assists and four steals, while Eric Gordon finished the game with 23 points in a valiant effort. The Cavs were in the middle of a dizzying firestorm of blowouts, disastrous team meetings and injuries that led to the February 8 trades of Thomas, Wade and four other players. Jeff Green scored 19 points and grabbed eight rebounds in Love's place on Sunday, a line that can not be depended upon at any point moving forward.
