Aamir is a huge fan of this Southern star

Chennai/Bengaluru: Far from the fanfare associated with superstar Rajinikanth movies, the Tamil filmstar's movie Kaala saw muted response on Thursday in many parts of Chennai and Bengaluru alike, mostly due to the controversial statements made by the actor-turned-politician on issues like the recent Thoothukudi violence as well as on the contentious issue of Cauvery river water sharing.

A day after the Karnataka High Court ordered the State government to give police protection to theatres screening the film, the Madras High Court and the Supreme Court refused to stay the release of the film, which has been facing legal and political hurdles. Reports suggest that "Kaala" is Rajinikanth's biggest release in the U.S. so far and has superseded "Kabali".

Thalaiva Rajinikanth's latest flick 'Kaala' hit the theatres today amid protest in Karnataka and while fans are queuing up outside cinemas since the wee hours of the morning, a piracy website Tamilrockers has leaked the film online, reported the Indian Express. "Kaala" is produced by Rajinikanth's son-in-law Dhanush.

The tepid response has led to growing doubts about Rajinikanth's prospects in Tamil Nadu politics, given that Kaala is his first film after he jumped into the political arena. "But we hope they have a great story to be shared, which may be liked - and the film does well", he is quoted as saying.

Whether or not Trump actually told anyone, Wolfers explains, "You just don't want to raise that perception". His tweet came in an hour before the jobs report was officially released by the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

The Karnataka High Court had on Tuesday directed the state government to provide necessary security for the peaceful release of the film. "Everybody is waiting for the film to be released", the bench told the petitioner's counsel. "There is no question of seeking an apology but the actor should state that he will help resolve the Cauvery issue", Sa Ra Govindu, president of the Karnataka Film Chambers of Commerce (KFCC) and pro-Kannada activist said. Protestors held demonstrations outside theatres in Bengaluru asking fans to not watch the show.

Bollywood star Aamir Khan is also excited about the film.

From Pa Ranjith's direction to the incredible chemistry between Rajinikanth and Eswari Rao, Kaala has been declared as a blockbuster by the fans.
