Phoenix Suns select Deandre Ayton as first overall pick

The Kings extended the Duke Basketball program's and Head Coach Mike Krzyzewski's record of NBA Draft Lottery selections, by moving the total to twenty-four draft picks. And while there may always be some skepticism of European players because Darko Milicic bombed so badly after being taken right behind LeBron James and ahead of Carmelo Anthony, Chris Bosh and Dwyane Wade 15 years ago, it would be a surprise if Doncic failed after all he's already done. "If you rebuild for longer than three years, then the losing, I think, hurts your culture, and that seeps in a little bit". A high-upside player who will probably spend some time in the G-League. Walker was viewed as a potential lottery pick by some. Why would the players need even more screen-time?

Beginning with Chauncey Billups, who earned my respect as a player during his Detroit years, Billups' segment of player comparisons was bad and frankly a waste of time.

A last-minute trade had Phoenix draft Texas Tech guard Zhaire Smith at No. 16, sending him to the Philadelphia 76ers in exchange for Villanova swingman Mikal Bridges, their 10th overall pick. Aside from the weird trend of matching the race of pick and compared player, Billups failed to match playstyles altogether.

"It felt like I knew him for years, and it's insane".

And she taught me at nine. "A lot of people have been asking why I've been wearing turbans", she said. Singer-actress Willow Smith once caught her parents Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith in bed.

Bridges struggles to create offense off the dribble, but he's otherwise an increasingly lethal three-point threat, having knocked down 43.5% of his 6.0 long-range shot attempts per game as a junior. Billups had to have done some preparation for the top prospects and their comparisons, and obviously it's uncertain how every draftee will turn out, but some of his choices made it seem like he was drawing names out of segregated hats. Simply pointless questions regarding "the moment" and "what their team can expect" were repeated for each pick, with equally repetitive answers. Mock drafts were busted and fans were left either shouting in joy or agony as their teams picked what they feel are the next building blocks of their future. "They sound great, and I can't wait to get to know them". And immediately after being drafted they had to sell themselves as a player again?

Standing out among the interviews was Colin Sexton's. Eager to get their hands on the former Real Madrid star, the Mavericks took a massive risk when they gave up their 2019 first-round pick, which happens to be a top 5 protected pick.

BOISE, ID - MARCH 15: Deandre Ayton #13 of the Arizona Wildcats dunks the ball in the first half against the Buffalo Bulls during the first round of the 2018 NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament at Taco Bell Arena on March 15, 2018 in Boise, Idaho. "Going through the process of going to the U of A and the fans support me, it was just phenomenal". You can't say he's not good and he's the MVP and everything of that spot.

I like hearing about those stories, and I am looking forward to seeing what the 2018 National Basketball Association draft selections bring to the table when the regular season begins this fall. However, Ayton still has significant weaknesses at the other end of the floor.
