Salman Khan film Race 3 scores a century at the box office

Salman Khan is the undisputed ruler at the Box Office by Remo D'Souza, Race 3 has been garnering poor reviews but that has not hindered its unprecedented growth at the Box Office on the first day itself.

Collecting Rs 39.16 crore on Sunday, the total domestic collection for Race 3 first weekend went to Rs 106 crore. Apart from Salman, Race 3 also stars Jacqueline, Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol, Freddy Daruwala, Saqib Saleem, and Daisy Shah.

In North America, Race 3 earned around Rs 92 lakh (£102,128), in the UK Rs 2.08 crore (£281,000), in Australia Rs 87 lakh (£96,600) and from New Zealand, Rs 47 lakh (£52,200).

Salman Khan is regularly releasing his films on Eid eve, and it seems it is his lucky charm. However, it failed to become the top opening weekend grosser of the year, as it failed to beat Padmaavat's Rs 114 crore number.

"Of course, Salman Khan is a huge draw and his fan following, particularly for Eid releases, is incomparable", said film trade and exhibition expert Girish Johar.
