Vladimir Putin Dismisses G7 Criticism As "Babbling", Calls For Cooperation

QINGDAO, China-China's President Xi Jinping warned against unilateralism and trade protectionism as he, Russian President Vladimir Putin and Central Asian leaders used a regional meeting to criticize US policy.
Speaking about the Skripal case, discussed at G7 summit, Putin noted, that "nothing new" was said on the matter, stressing that "it is necessary to stop chatter and move on to cooperation".
Putin said he shares Trump's expression of concern about a renewed arms race expressed in a March phone call.
Russian Federation was booted out of the then-G8 when it annexed Ukraine's Crimea four years ago and has done little since to win favour with the elite group of wealthy nations.
"The U.S. president has repeatedly said that it's reasonable to hold such a meeting", he said.
The last meeting between Trump and Putin was a brief exchange in Vietnam last November. Its member states also include four ex-Soviet Central Asian republics, Pakistan and India.
Earlier Sunday, Putin criticized the USA withdrawal from the Iranian nuclear deal in a speech at the summit.
Thanks to President Putin, bilateral ties have withstood the test of ever-changing global situation, Xi said, noting the deepened political and strategic mutual trust, great progress in pragmatic cooperation in various fields, and the enhanced friendship between the two peoples.

It is disappointing that the United States unilaterally withdrew from the Iran nuclear deal, said the statement, adding that China and Russian Federation will try their best to safeguard the deal and take note of the extreme importance of protecting the interests of all parties who engage in economic and trade cooperation with Iran from unilateral imposition of long-arm jurisdiction.
