Tesla Shares Tumble After Elon Musk's "Pedo" Comment

In another tweet, Musk says he "never saw this British expat guy who lives in Thailand" and challenged the suggestion he was asked to leave the cave because his assistance wasn't necessary.

And now he's called one of the divers who was involved in the strenuous mission a "pedo" after the British man said that Musk's building of the underwater pod was a "PR stunt" that had "absolutely no chance of working".

Musk has yet to issue an apology to Unsworth, and Tesla has not made a statement on the incident.

No evidence has come to light to substantiate Musk's pedophilia accusation.

Musk had already attracted criticism for his approach to the Thai rescue after Narongsak Osatanakorn, head of the joint command center, said the mini-submarine was sophisticated, but not practical for the operation. "He had no conception of what the cave passage was like,"said Unsworth. I believe he has called me a paedophile".

"It wouldn't have made the first 50 metres into the cave from the dive start point".

The rescuer said in an interview with CNN: "He can stick his submarine where it hurts".

Whether it's investors betting against his stock or reporters or analysts who ask tough questions, Elon Musk has fought back, often around the clock on Twitter. "I'm certain they wish he would be a more cautious tweeter".

Federer stunned, Djokovic in Wimbledon semis
Nishikori capitalised on this lapse in concentration, putting together his finest game of the match to break and then consolidate. Top seed Federer, who was aiming for a record-equalling ninth singles title, missed a match point in the third set.

"The caver told AFP he would make a decision when he flies back to the United Kingdom this week, but said the episode with Musk 'ain't finished, '" the news agency reported.

The inflammatory (and yet unfounded) comments have since been deleted from Musk's feed.

Musk followed up his tweet with another saying "Bet ya a signed dollar it's true".

Unsworth's comments came as it was reported that two Australians who assisted in the global effort to help the Thai football team were given diplomatic immunity in case anything went wrong during the rescue.

At time of publication, Tesla traded down 3.7 percent at a rate of $307.02.

Musk's tweets attacking the cave expert prompted condemnation from others who took part in the risky mission to extract the boys from the subterranean Tham Luang cave network through a narrow, water-filled passage.

Spokespeople at Musk's companies, Tesla and SpaceX, have not replied to requests for comment on his tweets or the possibility of a libel lawsuit.
