Jon Tester - whom the president's son, Donald Trump Jr., on Thursday afternoon called "Two-Faced Tester" before introducing his father to an exuberant crowd at the Four Seasons Arena in Great Falls, Montana.
"It's time to retire liberal Democrat Jon Tester!" he said to great applause. Trump's speech was, like most of his addresses, a remarkable mix of stream-of-consciousness thinking, fact-challenged claims and demagoguery.
"Pocohantas - they want me to apologize for saying it" Trump said.
Things have calmed down a little bit although a few minutes ago, as people who weren't able to get into the rally were leaving, there were a couple of heated words exchanged between some of the protestors and some of the Trump supporters.

It later came out, in claims Tester and others said were brought to Congress, that Jackson had been accused of liberally doling out medications on Air Force One, crashing a auto, and running an office that some other employees called hostile. "And they don't know who they are playing with, folks", Trump said. Elizabeth Warren "Pocahontas" is insensitive.
Trump nearly immediately lashed into Tester, the two-term Democrat, who he blamed for derailing the April nomination of Navy Rear Adm. Ronny Jackson to head the Department of Veterans Affairs. "You can right that wrong in November", Trump told his adoring crowd.
Tester's ad sought to undermine Trump's efforts to boost Rosendale by pointing out that he and the president agree on several issues. Trump's message would influence his decision, he said.

Cavani limped off shortly after scoring his second goal in Uruguay's 2-1 defeat of Portugal , which booked their last-eight spot. Comments like, "You must now say Cristiano go to house", "Good bay Portugal " and " Uruguay , jeje" were posted by Uruguay fans.
Tester, who has run for re-election by pledging to work with Trump when needed, prepared for Trump's visit by taking out full-page ads in 14 of the state's newspapers touting the bills Trump has signed in his first 19 months in office and welcoming him to Montana.
"You deserve a senator who actually votes like he's from Montana", the president said.
"Welcome to Montana & thank you President Trump for supporting Jon's legislation to help veterans and first responders, hold the VA accountable, and get rid of waste, fraud and abuse in the federal government", reads the ad. Rosendale said as he professed his loyalty to Trump.
Tester planned to spend Thursday listening to farmers and business owners concerns about Trumps import tariffs and was expected to be driving back to his farm at the time of Trumps rally, spokeswoman Marnee Banks said.
"Jon Tester voted "no" on repealing ObamaCare", Trump said, adding an extraneous critique of Sen.
"Trust me, we'll do just fine", he said. "I've been preparing for this stuff my whole life".
And he slammed critics who suggested that he was not prepared for his coming meeting with Putin in Finland, dismissing Putin's background as a head of Russia's intelligence service.
Trump touted recent success on the employment front, including 3.4 million new jobs, rising wages, and record low unemployment claims among African-Americans, Hispanics, and women.
