Paul Pogba Told By Mourinho He Will Never Captain Man United Again

Paul Pogba got up and left after Jack Marriott put Derby in front with five minutes remaining at Old Trafford.

Manchester United will host Derby County in the third round of the League Cup on Tuesday night.

The relationship between the pair has been shaky at the best of times, but recent comments from Pogba that called for United to play more attacking football appear to have angered the manager.

This was the competition that gave Mourinho his first trophy as United manager in 2017, but he has failed to make progress since that opening season and was forced to admit for a second game in succession that his side were beaten by opponents showing greater desire.

The report suggests that the Barcelona scouts will be watching Paul Pogba's every game until the end of the season and they were even present for Manchester United's Champions League clash vs Young Boys last week.

It is the latest chapter in an unhealthy saga between Pogba and Mourinho, with a number of incidents distracting from United's dismal start to the new campaign.

"I am trying to build a group to be successful and nights like this are incredible".

He had played a starring role for France under Didier Deschamps at the World Cup this summer, but has struggled to replicate the form on a consistent basis for his club.

Moments later, United goalkeeper Sergio Romero saw red for handling another Wilson effort outside the area. To go against world-class players and play that way, it's right up there.
