The event was billed as a lunch at the White House to discuss prison reform, jobs for African-Americans and Chicago violence.
After jokingly pretending to walk off the set when Jones mentions Kanye's name, Chappelle says, "First of all, you know, Kanye's an artist, man".
"Not only was this a insane conversation for this White House, this was the kind of conversation that would typically held between people wearing hospital bracelets", he said.
The rapper has come under intense criticism from his fellow celebrities for wearing the cap and his support of the Trump administration. "You made a Superman cape for me", he said.
"I love this guy right here", West said, walking behind the desk to hug the seated president, who said: "That's really nice".
