After a whirlwind 48 hours at Manchester United, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was announced as the caretaker manager of the club on December 19 and in his first interview, the Norwegian has vowed to help his players enjoy football again.
Keane was on BBC Radio Five live on Friday morning with Adrian Chiles and it appears that he has a degree of sympathy for the recently sacked Jose Mourinho due to the type of players he had to deal with at United.
United have turned to their former Norway global striker Solskjaer on a deal until the end of the season to inject some life into what has been a fraught campaign.
It is no secret that Rio Ferdinand and Paul Scholes, along with several other former players, were openly critical about the way Mourinho was doing his job at Manchester United.
"If he achieves it he'll surely get to manage the club beyond this season".
Modi's BJP suffers heavy election defeats in Hindi heartland
This is the first time that no one party or coalition managed to secure the majority in the state Assembly. With national elections to be held by May 2019, the narrative has shifted in India.
"I don't blame Woodward entirely for missing out here - but what a statement that would've been - putting in a three-time CL victor, whilst as the same time re-structuring the club - like Liverpool - top to bottom". Always when you see a manager leave a club it is bad news and when he is a friend and a coach like Jose it is always bad news for football. What I think i can improve them on. It is not something that we have talked about. "You ask yourself 'Am I going to miss my chance?"
But one thing is for sure, even if Manchester United lose to Cardiff City on Saturday, for a couple of days, we've had our club back.
"I will have an input but the job is to get to know the players, observe them I've seen more or less every game from Norway but to get to know the players, what do I think I can improve them on. It's six months. I'm back home", Solskjaer said. Whatever you say about the players, they threw Mourinho under the bus.
Keane won seven Premier League titles, four FA Cups and the Champions League during his 13 seasons at United and believes any player unrest during his time in the dressing room would have been quelled. Lots of my management evolves around what I learnt from him. He was a top player for us and filled Roy Keane's boots - and that's not easy.
Mourinho was given the boot at Old Trafford this week after a poor start to the campaign, punctuated by high-profile rows with key players.
"As a player, I gave everything I had and now walking out, leading the team, just being part of this team - because that's what I am, I'm part of a huge team".
