Stats: Klopp can set LFC record against United

Liverpool right back Nathaniel Clyne could make his first Premier League start of the season against rivals Manchester United on Sunday (Dec 16) as boss Jurgen Klopp looks to manage a defensive injury crisis.

The Red Devils will be aiming to bounce back from their 2-1 defeat at Valencia in midweek when they take the trip to Merseyside, but are expected to face a herculean task if they are to avoid another loss.

Will Klopp get his hands on a trophy this season?

Beating United at home should be worth more than 3 points for Liverpool and their supporters by default but Sunday's outcome, if overwhelmingly positive, could really kickstart a pattern in this fixture for the foreseeable future, given the trajectories of the two football clubs.

Mourinho responded: "Well, I played against a Liverpool that was European champion".

"I don't know how much you ask Jose Mourinho about players from us? But I think it is important to focus on us, and see how we can hurt them, and score some goals".

"In the league, I think City are looking strong and better than any other team at the moment".

United will have to go to Anfield and shell out a worthy result if they want their fortunes to turn around this season.

"You know better than I, what happens if I give an answer to that question so no answer!" he said.
