Hamidou Diallo dunks over Shaquille for Saturday night slam title

This Slam Dunk Contest was very entertaining thanks to a showing from Oklahoma City Thunder rookie guard Hamidou Diallo where he jumped over Shaquille O'Neal and showed off an elbow hang as a tribute to Vince Carter.

"I would have loved the storybook ending - Steph comes home and wins in his native Charlotte", Stephen Curry said. The 7-foot-1 O'Neal stood in Diallo's path to the basket, causing Diallo to leap spread-eagle over O'Neal for the dunk.

Dell Curry brought out a slew of former All-Stars out to raise money for Charlotte schools, and those competing in the annual Slam Dunk Contest on Saturday night did their best to follow suit.

Brooklyn's Joe Harris held off Golden State's Stephen Curry to win the 3-point contest at All-Star Saturday night. And after a first attempt that didn't go, the second dunk was certainly something special.

Jayson Tatum of the Boston Celtics claimed the Skills Challenge title, seeing off Atlanta rookie Trae Young in the final.

"It's been an honour for me to be here, for me to participate in this weekend", Harris said. Young was ahead of Tatum in the competition where players have to execute some passes, a layup and then a 3-pointer.

Baseball legend Frank Robinson dies and social media cries
Major League Baseball Commissioner Rob Manfred released the following statement in the wake of Robinson's passing. For all he did on and off the field, Robinson was presented the Presidential Medal of Freedom by George W.

"I honestly didn't know I was going to hit the shot, but I had to give myself a chance, throw it up there, and it worked out for the best".

Turns out, Smith Jr. beat Diallo to the punch for his final dunk idea - jumping over future Hall of Famer Dwyane Wade.

For his final act, Diallo called upon Quavo from Migos to assist him.

"The atmosphere was great", Diallo said.

Diallo also called on U.S. rapper Quavious Marshall (Quavo) to hold the ball just above his head, sprinted from the right corner of the court and crammed a two-handed jam.
