The president repeated his assertion that without a border wall the U.S. is subject to vast lawlessness, including "human trafficking ... drugs and gangs and criminals pouring in".
Pelosi, along with other top Democrats, wouldn't negotiate on border wall and border security funds until the shutdown ended, however, since the government reopened almost a week ago, it doesn't look like Pelosi has made any effort to compromise.
While President Trump did not explicitly say he plans to declare a national emergency in order to secure his border wall funding, during an interview with the New York Times published Thursday evening he called talks with Democrats over wall funding a "waste of time". "We owe it to them to finish this wall and protect them from the monsters within".
"I think there's a good chance that we'll have to do that", he added, referring to the possibility of an emergency declaration that could allow him to use funds that Congress has approved for other purposes.
But the US leader said, "It's national emergency, it's other things and you know there have been plenty national emergencies called".
"I've actually always gotten along with her, but now I don't think I will any more".
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) said that she would not negotiate on funding for the southern border wall, going back on her promise to negotiate with President Donald Trump if he agreed to end the partial government shutdown. She suggested she'd be open to vehicle barriers known as "Normandy fencing" instead.
The Mueller investigation is closing in on Trump
If any of them previously lied to Congress or to FBI investigators, they'll be looking over their shoulder for a while. Law enforcement shined a flashlight into Stone's front door before one officer rapped against it, shouting, "FBI".
Trump began raising money for 2020 shortly after winning the presidency. "I think the Democrats don't want border security". "I think she's doing a tremendous disservice to the country".
"Democrats have put forward strong, smart and effective border security solutions in the bipartisan conference committee, while the president still refuses to take a second shutdown off the table", Hammill said. "And when I hear them talking about the fact that walls are immoral and walls don't work - they know they work", he told reporters earlier in the day.
"It's very hard to do human trafficking through ports of entry because you have people standing there saying hey what's going on in the backseat, what's going on in the trunk".
Claiming that there are three caravans heading towards the United States, he said if there was a wall, it would not even be a problem. Enough drugs were contained in the shipment to kill millions of people. We're building it with funds on hand.
"Excuse me?" Trump asked.
White House officials said the guest list for the first lady's viewing box will be released Monday, but they said the speech likely will be worked on through Tuesday.
